LOOKING TO START JUICING? MY 4 FAVORITE JUICERS ON THE MARKET

Looking to start juicing and have no idea where to begin? I got you! I got my first juicer back in college (Breville brand) and experimented with it on & off, but truthfully never made it a strong habit or dedicated too much time to learning about it. Fast forward to about five years ago (2017/2018), I dove deep into the juicing world and fully committed to it. This was at a time when I was in the worst of my autoimmune health conditions and started to step away from the traditional textbooks to follow my curiosity towards holistic health and learning about the power of detoxification/deep cleansing. Juicing, when used appropriately, has the power to flush out deeply rooted toxins from the body, provide an abundance of vitamins & minerals, and requires little to no energy for digestion (almost like an IV to the body). As someone who struggled for 10+ years with chronic digestive disorders, juicing became such a gift for my body. I quickly fell in love with this practice and created a morning routine that incorporated it every single day. The consistency is where juicing becomes so immensely powerful - your body soaking in these beautiful vitamins and nutrients on a daily basis. Some of the biggest transformations I saw when committing to juicing every day were:

  • Increased energy levels (I was basically bedridden from chronic fatigue for months at a time)

  • Decreased bloating

  • Easier & more powerful bowel movements

  • Went from 9 digestive enzymes a day to 0

  • Decreased brain fog (there were days I would lose my vision from how severe the brain fog was)

  • Decreased joint + muscle pain

  • Reversed Urticaria (chronic hives)

  • Reversed Periorial Dermatitis

  • Stronger + healthier hair/nails (coming from someone who had Alopecia and different periods of hair loss)

  • Deep hydration

  • Better moods + less irritation/anger

Please remember that these transformations didn’t happen JUST because of juicing (there were other components to my food + nutrition), but let me tell you it played a massive role. How do I know? Because life happens and of course there were days / even weeks where I was away from my juicer and I could SO easily feel the difference. Some of my symptoms would creep their way back in when I went too long and my body would crave these juices like no other. Trust me, it’s a POWERFUL practice and once you start to fully commit, it becomes something you can’t believe you went this long without.

When it comes to the type of juicer to use, there are a ton on the market and I know how confusing it can be. My recommendation would be to gravitate towards a SLOW JUICER. Slow juicers, compared to high speed juicers, minimize damage to ingredients, keep the natural taste, and maximize nutrition density (meaning it keeps the majority of the nutrients). High speed blades/ juices reduce nutrients and end up breaking down the form and color (although they do juice much quicker and are usually less expensive).

Here’s a quick breakdown of the 4 juicers that I’d personally recommend getting started with or upgrading to:

  1. Nama Juicers (slow juicer) - the brand I currently have now.

  2. Hurom Juicers (slow juicer) - the brand I’ve had in the past and still love.

  3. Omega Juicers (slow juicer) - I’ve never personally had, but have heard amazing things & have even had some clients purchase.

  4. Breville Juicers (fast speed juicer) - the first juicer I ever had and would absolutely recommend if you’re looking for a less expensive option / one that produces juices the quickest.

I currently have the Nama J2 Juicer and absolutely LOVE it. I’ve had my Nama juicer for over 5 years now and have honestly never had a problem with it once. It’s quiet, simple to clean, doesn’t take up too much counter space, and provides amazing juices!
